Hi! I’m Oakley and I’ve been a part of the Imagen Insights community for 10 months. Throughout my time I’ve had countless opportunities to collaborate with some amazing brands such as; Gymshark, eBay, PepsiCo and more.
When I first joined Imagen Insights, it was a bit difficult to wrap my head around the concept that they wanted to pay me for expressing my opinion. Yes, people really want to pay you for providing brutally honest insights, you’re helping them by giving companies an insight into your likes and dislikes and you get paid for it!

One aspect of Imagen Insights that I find really beneficial is that as a University student, it’s remote freelance paid work. This is really helpful as I can search the platform for briefs when needed and I don’t have to commit to an inflexible shift pattern, which isn’t really realistic around exam periods or if you have a busy social schedule. Also, as writing an insight only takes a fraction of time and it fits perfectly into that hour gap I’d have between lectures, or I can even complete them on the train home.
Imagen Insights offers some amazing opportunities, the more you get involved with the platform, which allows you to really stand out and network with industry professionals. In October I spoke as a guest panelist at the Internet Retailing Conference 2021, which was awesome! I got to speak about the effect lockdown has had on mine and Gen Z’s shopping habits, as well as attending some amazing talks by the founders of Lounge underwear and Head of Social Media for Innocent smoothies – an event I otherwise would not have attended if it wasn’t for my involvement with Imagen Insights. These experiences, as well as the skills that you acquire from being a Gen Z consultant, really help you stand out on paper but also in person, being able to verbalise innovative ideas within a given context. Additionally, these opportunities you get to be involved with are unique and are definitely not to be missed!

Now to address one of the biggest selling points of being an Imagen Insights consultant, it’s paid! With each brief amounting to approximately the cost of an Uber eats and a Wednesday night-out for me, it’s a great and flexible way to earn money whilst having a packed schedule. The payment comes within 48-hours after completion of the brief through the secure platform of Wise-Pay, so no waiting around for payday.
Another one of the best things about Imagen Insights – is the community! Firstly, the team are all so friendly and welcoming and don’t spam you with emails, which is a bonus! Nothing is ever too much trouble and if you ever have any questions, you can always drop them an email or message them on the chat platform. The chat platform really lets the community come together and be a community, discussing topics and helping each other out with insights, it’s really a welcoming and inclusive place.
